TGIF my Scraptastic friends!

This week has flown by...I can't believe it's Friday already. Hubs has been gone all week for work (Napa)...must be nice. My week started off with Bailey having lice...totally has grossed me out. I don't like bugs of any kind. So that's been my week, how has your week been?

Today I'm sharing a couple of projects that I finished up over the weekend. 

First up is The Twister Champ

I used the Celebrate Life Kit and Add-On for this layout...the pictures from a sleepover that we had weeks ago were perfect for this kit! I hand cut all of the banners on the bottom and then matted them with white cardstock so they stood out better on the black cardstock. I painted the white thickers that were in the add-on with a paint dauber from a past kit...the white just wasn't working for me. 

Next up is a layout that I made using the Be Amazing Kit and Add-On.

Be Amazing

To start, I splattered my kraft cardstock with Miss Mary Mack Sprinkler, Atmosphere Mister Huey and White Mister Huey. I matted my patterned papers with the teal cardstock from the kit. And I totally stole Melanie's idea of tearing the chipboard pieces apart from the chipboard sheet in the add-on...I really like all of those pieces much better once they weren't so thick. Oh, and the little kraft butterfly stickers...I painted the edges of the smaller butterfly with a teal paint dauber from a past kit and then layered them...love how they turned out.

And last up is a little Birthday card that I made with the Celebrate Life Kit

I hand cut the banners and matted them on black cardstock and then white cardstock. I then punched some holes in the top so I could run my twine through them, made some bows and voila....a cute little birthday card.

I'm hoping to spend a little time in my scraproom this weekend...fingers crossed!

I will have the first sneaks of the April Kits next weekend...I'm just waiting on my last box of scrappy goodies. I hope that you all have a fabulous weekend!

she's an all star...

Good morning my Scraptastic friends and Happy Hump Day!

It's Jessica here and today I'm going to share my first 8.5 X 11 layout (actually this might be my second try at this size) that I made using the Celebrate Life Kit and Add-On.

 

So here's my layout...

 

 

I really love the bright colors from these papers and I thought they were perfect for my picture of Bailey with her ribbon from cheerleading (she was chosen to get the ribbon on the very first practice for outstanding effort). I used the washi tape from the kit to make my frame for the picture (I'm now in love with washi tape, must have more) and I used the liquid pearls (the free goody in the kit) to paint my thickers and to add some "pearls" to my flags (liquid pearls is also one of my new favs, and I'd like to have one of every color)

when I showed Bailey the finished layout, she asked my why I put the little red person on there

and my response was "because it looks like the little person is doing a cheerleading jump"

She then just looked at me sideways...I don't think that she bought my reason. Oh well, I love those little people and I think they're stinkin' cute. What do you think? A cheerleading jump?

 

I love the versatility of the kit...it doesn't have to be used for birthdays. It's perfect for other pages as well.

Can you believe it's March already??? Not me...time is flying by way too fast for me lately.

I've got a couple of things to share with you today before I announce February's Blog Challenge winner and the 1st March Blog Challenge.

So...now that means it challenge time. I'm feeling a bit musical today, so you know that means it's time for a music challenge...and here's my example...I used the Be Amazing Kit and Add-On

So you know the drill...the title of your layout needs to be a song title, any one of your choosing. But you know there's needs to be a twist right???

I used these photo booth pictures that we took at the new bowling alley here. So there's your twist...either use some photo booth strips (if you have them) or make your own!

Anyone have any big plans this weekend?

I have to work tomorrow morning, then take Declan to baseball tryouts, then I hope to scrap for the rest of the weekend in between cleaning the house. Maybe take the kids to a movie or bowling???

Today I'd like to share a couple of layouts that I finished up last weekend.

I used the Snow What Fun Kit and Add-On for this one. Since we don't get any snow here, I figured the next best thing would be pictures from December with the kids on Hilton Head. Bailey always likes to write "I Love Mommy" in the sand, so this time I got some good pictures of her doing it. I love the way it turned out! I did add the red letters for my title from one of the past kits.

For this one I used the Hearts A Flutter Kit and Add-On. I promise to try to have this be the last picture that I scrap from Bailey's photo shoot. I just can't help myself, I still have tons of them left, and they seem to go with everything :)

1st february challenge and january's winner

I hope that everyone's week is a great one so far. Mine has been crazy busy with tax season and the new February kits, which are officially up for sale now. There are not many left...so grab yours while you still can. You can find the new kits here.

Now, onto the 1st February challenge. As soon as I saw this paper from Amy Tangerine,

which was included in the A Boy's Life Kit, I just knew that I wanted to cut it out and use it as a die cut. Which is what I did...

I also cut out one of the clouds from the B side of the paper, just to add a bit more of that awesome teal color. 

So, my challenge for you is to do some fussy cutting of your own to make your own die cuts for your layout, or card, whichever you feel like doing!

What are you waiting for??? Get to fussy cutting and show me what you got!

I hope that you have all had a great week so far. I've been extremely busy with the start of a new tax season. I'm not sure that I'm quite ready for it yet!

Anyhoo...I wanted to share a layout with you that I did using the Snow What Fun Kit and Add-On

I originally wanted to use the Naughty or Nice? Kit with this picture, but with all of the craziness of the Holidays, I just didn't have enough time. But I'm so glad for it now, because this kit ended up working out perfectly for this picture. And, I even managed to get some snowflakes on my page (we get no snow here in South Carolina where we are :( )

I'm really happy with the way this page turned out, and I'm really loving this pic of the kids at Hilton Head this past December!

Now, onto my crazy kids...I've been dying to jump into the Button Box Kit and Add-On, (there is only 1 kit and 1 add-on left) so today I went through all of my pictures, looking for the right ones to jump out at me and say "pick me, pick me...I'm the perfect pictures for this kit". And low and behold, I finally found them...

 

I'm so happy with the way it turned out. I stole Juliann's idea of painting my alphas with my red paint dabber from the August Summer Star Kit. I needed more red to make those red glasses really pop. I did some fussy cutting to make my banner, and I matted those pieces on the blue cardstock from the kit to give my banner an extra pop.

When I was looking through all of my pictures for Christmas ones to scrap....I just couldn't resist these. The look on Bailey's face just cracks me up :)

I added the sparkly thickers and the stickles from my stash. I just wanted a little bling :)

What are your plans for today?

We are going to Savannah to watch Bailey's cheerleading competition....that will eat up our whole day, so that will be it for us. I'm hoping that when we get back, I can get into my scraproom to finish up some projects :)

Here's a layout that I did with the Naughty or Nice? Kit and Add-On....the pics are old (from 2007) but I just love the look on Bailey's face while she's opening up her present from Grandma and Grandpa...

The papers were such a perfect match for my pictures! I really love those chipboard butterflies from Studio Calico, and I've decided that I must have more!!!! Maybe Santa will get me some :)

Last Friday I received a huge box of December's Scrappy Goodness.....I'm still going through everything, and I'm just waiting on a few more items for the December Kits before I call them done, so, you might want to check back on Friday for the first peek of the December Kits!

Onto today's inspiration......I'd like to share a layout that I did with the Home Sweet Home Kit and Add-On....the pictures are from our trip to the Pumpkin Patch at Poppell Farms in Odum, GA. We all had a blast there, and will definitely be going back next year.

My husband would like one of these bouncy things for our backyard, he was sad that he wasn't allowed out there to play.
