happy tuesday!

i know we have
one more day until february...

but seriously i LOVE
the february kits so much
i HAD to start sharing today!!!

so i have 1 question for you.......

where are you putting your valentines????

ours are (very cutely) being eaten
by this super adorable MONSTER!!!

and here's how to make
one of your own...

supplies:
tissue box
hearts a flutter kit
hearts a flutter add-on
glue
black stickles

center cardstock on box
draw where you will cut for the
mouts, and where you will
fold the cardstock to
cover the box...
make cuts for sides,
leaving a small flap to
overlap and give a more
finished look.
cut mouth and glue
paper to top on box.

glue sides down, and overlap
small flaps.
depending on the size of your
box... i cut 2 1/2" strips to go around
the lower half of the box
i then cut teeth and glued them in
place, went around the mouth
with black stickles, and
adorned with cuteness!!!
the kids made our monster his
cute accordion arms!

i saw this idea on
pinterest and re-purposed
it for valentines day!

Projects Galore!

It's Heather again, and I'm back to show you the last few projects that I completed with the Button Box kit and add on. I was totally obsessed with using every last scrap of this kit because I loved the it so much. When I finished making the first few layouts, I used the leftover scraps and embellies to squeak out one more layout that used up tiny scraps. I also made seven cards. (I did add one piece of red cardstock and a few red gems when I created the cards.)

Before I created this page, I searched the web for sketches that used tiny bits of paper. I found an amazing one in the latest PageMaps release. This is the layout I came up with. I used some older photos of my son. I loved how well the flags in the kit worked as banners to hang from my twine.

I also made two sets of cards. I used two different color palettes when I designed them. The first set closely matches the layouts that I made with the kit. They are all misted with the mist that Jessica included as the extra goodie this month. All three of these cards were inspired by Studio Calico sketches, I've said it before... They have amazing sketches on their blog

On this next set, I pulled a sheet of red cardstock from my stash because I really liked the small red dashes that ran through the striped paper. I thought that adding the red cardstock would really make those pop, and it worked!

I hope that I inspired you to use more of your scraps from your Scraptastic Club kits! I'll be back next Monday with layouts that I made from the FABULOUS February kits.

Bless Your Little Heart

Happy Saturday Scraptastic friends! Amanda here with my final post as guest desinger. I have had so much fun working with the Button Box kit and add-on, and getting a chance to know Jessica and the other talented ladies on this team. I am very honored and thankful to Jessica for giving the me the opportunity to be a part of this fabulous team! :)

For my final project, I wanted to share another card. When I sat down and made the card for my challenge, I decided to try my hand at another one. This is a small 3.5x3.5 card, and I just used some of my scraps and a few of the cute little label stickers on it. Its very small and simple, but I love the way it turned out!

I loved the bless your little heart sticker, and thought it would be a cute touch for a sweet thank you card.

Again, I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to be your guest designer for the month of January...I hope along the way I inspired you all to create something you love! :)

A Little Birdie Told Me....

Hello Scraptastic Friends! Amanda here with your Thursday challenge!! :)

I struggled a little bit when trying to decide what to select as my challenge. I thought of doing a recipe challenge, sketch challenge, etc...but then I thought about what is a challenge for me when it comes to my paper crafting...something I always want to do, but that I struggle with...and for me its making cards, hands down.

So, my challenge for you is to find that thing that you struggle with, be it cards, 8.5x11 layouts, tags, using certain items, such as trims, where ever your struggle lays, and confront it head on! Make that layout, tag, etc.

Here is the card I made for the challenge example. Its by no means fancy, its actually very simple, but I am actually very happy with the way it turned out, and it helped to start building up my confidence just a bit in my card making aspect of crafting.

Have fun with this challenge friends, use it as an opportunity to step out of your comfort zone a little, and you might be surprised at how much you end up actually enjoying it! :)
Have a great day and create something you love!

Use the inlinkz tool below to submit your entry for the 4th January 2012 challenge. You have until midnight on  February 1st to submit all of your January challenges. This month's prize is a $20.00 GC to the Scraptastic Club store.

Last of my projects

Hey... Michelle here to share with you the last of my projects with my Snow What Fun kit and add on. I made a total of four pages, a card and a little framed decor piece. Not too shabby! :) There is still product left to make a few cards and maybe squeak out a LO.

Without further adieu, here is more of what I created...A LO about a snowfall in early October, 2009. It was a l-o-n-g winter that year. I added some LYB chip pieces (snowflakes and tree) from my stash.

A snowboarding LO.

A couple of close up detail shots.
I used more foam squares for added dimension. I was able to slip the wooden mittens under the doily tag (from my stash). I added some stickles to the snow flakes.

I hope you found some inspiration in my projects! :)

See you next time.

Such A Fun Day!

Good morning everyone! It's Monday again, and that means it's time for me to share a page that I made with a fabulous Scraptastic Club kit. I got to create with the Button Box kit and add on this month. I found an older photo of  my son with his grandpa and I knew right away that I wanted to use it with this kit. The design on this page was inspired by a Studio Calico sketch. I went to their blog to see how their design team was using the tissue tapes that Jessica included in the kit, and while I was there I found an awesome sketch. I love it when that happens! This is my take on their sketch.

I also took some close up photos so you could see how I used the trim. I decided to use it the same way I would use ribbon or strips of cardstock. The tissue texture added a lighter feel to the page. (I used two scraps from older Scraptastic Club kits on this page. The grey resin flower and the white string.)

One of my favorite embellishments in this kit was this butterfly button. It's different and really fun! I layered several diecuts and a few stickers to create this cluster of embellishments.

I hope I managed to inspire you today.

Happy scrapping!

Heart This Smile

Hello Scrappers!! Happy Saturday! Amanda here to share another layout that I made with the Button Box kit and add-on.

I used Heather's fabulous sketch for this layout. I loved the grid design, but I am very much a single photo page scrapper, so I used alot of the fun patterns in this kit for my grid. I also loved the title placement, but wanted to blow it up and make a larger statement with my title. Here is my  layout:

You can definitely see Heather's sketch in my layout, but the fun little changes I made helped to make it my own. That's what I love about sketches, no two layout ever turn out the same! I will definitely come back to this sketch again, I might even try my hand at a photo grid! lol

Hope you all have a great weekend and take time to create something you love!

Wintry Challenge

Hi Everyone! It is challenge time again. I wanted to do something different this time around. Something that didn't involve making a scrapbook page.

Here is my challenge to you... make a decor piece.

Here is what I made with the Snow What Fun kit and add on.
I had this 5x7 frame in my son's room. We recently redecorated, so the frame was no longer being used. I made a wintry scene using the elements stickers, some paper and rub on's from my stash. It was quick to throw together, but makes a fun little piece to decorate for the season.
A little foam tape to make my 'I {heart} Winter' pop.

Now it is your turn!! Go! Create! Have fun!! I can't wait to see what you make!

Please use the inlinkz tool below to submit your entries. Remember that you have until midnight on February 1, 2012 to submit all of your entries for the January Challenges.
And remember that this month you are playing for a $20.00 gift certificate to Scraptastic Club!

A Chilly Snow Day

Hello! Michelle here. I am back to share another project I made with my January kit. The Snow What Fun kit and add on couldn't of been anymore perfect for my photos I used on my layout! The different shades of blues with a pop of red... it was like this kit was made specifically for my photos. I love when that happens!
I used Heather's sketch. Being I am inundated with 4x6 photos... (am I the only one who still prints in mass quantities??) I had to change it up a bit to fit with my 4x6 photos. I am also trying to do more multi-photo'd pages. I created a little winter scene with that cute little snowpeople die cut. It too was perfect to go with these photos of my son and daughter. I took some Mr. Huey mists from a past Scraptastic kit and misted the navy paper to give it a snowy effect. I layered up a bunch of snowflakes from the kit, and voila! A cute wintry page from Jan/Feb, 2011.

I hope you have found a little inspiration today.

Sassy Girl

Hi everyone! It's Monday and that means it's my turn to inspire you to use your kits. I'm sharing a page I made with the Button Box kit and add on. I titled the page "Sassy Girl" because my daughter is quite sassy and sarcastic. (I can't imagine where she gets it from?!) This page is an homage to the fact that she has a super sweet side too. I thought this photo captured that aspect of her personality really well.

I absolutely loved the combination of colors in this kit! They matched the colors in my photo perfectly. I really love it when that happens. Here's a closer look at the journaling and the fussy cutting that I did to create the banner.

I loved the monarch butterfly sticker that came in the kit so I layered other embellishments on my page to highlight it. I also used Stickles to make it stand out a little more.

I repeated the butterfly embellishment in the bottom right corner by using one of the journaling tags to partially mat my title. I also used some of the October Afternoon mist that Jessica included as the extra this month. The layered circles were cut on my Cricut. I inked them before I layered them.

I hope I inspired you to scrap today! I can't wait to see what you all make with the fabulous kits this month.

Happy Scrapping!
Heather

Best of Friends

Happy Saturday Scraptastic Scrappers! :)  I hope the weekend is treating you well, and that you are possibly getting in some crafty time! :) Amanda here again to share another layout with you!

I plan on sitting down at some point this weekend and getting a little crafty myself. I still have some yumminess left over from the fabulous Button Box kit and add-on! I just love the colors and all of the fabulous patterns.

Some of the patterns can be a little overwhelming to use as a full background, but if you are like me, you really struggle using cardstock as your base. I am still so inspired by the banners on that " Clothesline" paper, and when you add it in with this sketch by Sketchy Thursdays, I found a fun way to use the busy pattern in a larger area without it overwhelming my layout.

I thought it would be fun to have my banner be a break between the cardstock and the patterned paper. I use banners ALOT, I just love the look of them, but sometimes its get to be so repetitive, so this was a fun way to use some of my "signature" looks, while bringing it up to a new and fun level.

Here is the layout that I made :

I loved that doily paper, but it would have been very overwhelming as the base, and would have distracted from my photo. By using it in the corner and breaking it up with my banner, I think it brings the focus all around and back to the photo, and ties in well with the black and white photo while making the other colors pop.

Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone just a bit, do something you are comfortable with and just give it a little twist!

all i want....

Good morning my Scraptastic friends!
TGIF!!!

I hope that you have all had a great week so far. I've been extremely busy with the start of a new tax season. I'm not sure that I'm quite ready for it yet!

Anyhoo...I wanted to share a layout with you that I did using the Snow What Fun Kit and Add-On

I originally wanted to use the Naughty or Nice? Kit with this picture, but with all of the craziness of the Holidays, I just didn't have enough time. But I'm so glad for it now, because this kit ended up working out perfectly for this picture. And, I even managed to get some snowflakes on my page (we get no snow here in South Carolina where we are :( )

I'm really happy with the way this page turned out, and I'm really loving this pic of the kids at Hilton Head this past December!

That's all for me today!
I hope that you all have a great weekend!

2nd January 2012 Challenge

Hi everyone! It's Heather, and I'm back to challenge you this week. I'm sure it's not a huge surprise that the challenge involves a sketch. In addition to using the sketch, I'm also asking you to use five photos on your page! We've all got piles of photos to scrap, and I'd like to inspire you to use quite a few of them.

This is the page that I made with the sketch. I loved the color combination in the Button Box kit! I used photos of my daughter riding. If she had her way, we would have a horse in our back yard.

I layered a lot of different embellishments on the bottom right of my page. I really loved the quote on the pencil because as you know many kids DO think they know it all and my daughter has been hitting the teen years hard already. Just a subtle little message! LOL

The Prima flowers from the add on are gorgeous too. I tucked a teeny tiny gem into the center of mine for some added interest. The little yellow letters were from a past kit. I love how I always have embellishments left over from Jessica's kits!

Please use the inLinkz tool below to submit your entry for the 2nd January challenge. The prize this month is a $20.00 gift card to spend in the Scraptastic Club store.  Good luck!

Snow Angels

Happy Humpday! Michelle here to share with you one of several projects I made with my Snow What Fun kit and add-on.

Here is my page.I love how the blues in the kit matched so well with these photos from about this time last year. I used a sketch from the talented Julie Bonner. I pulled out my old 12" decorative trimmer from Creative Memories to cut the wave in the papers.

I layered the journaling cards and embellishments, adding some foam adhesive to give it some lift. I added a little sparkle to the center with the frosted stickles in the kit.

Of course, I had to play with my Cricut and Snow Day cartridge and cut out a little snow angel. I think it turned out pretty cute.

That is it for me for now. I will be back next week with another project.

Happy Scrappin'.
